Protest Kitakyushu city and Stop diffusion of radioactive garbage（2012年3月19日から北九州市が「がれき受け入れ」問い合わせ専用電話を設置）

On March 12th, 2012, the assembly of Kitakyushu city unanimously decided the agenda to accept radioactive contaminated garbage from disaster area to support to promote reconstruction. Mr. Kenji Kitahashi, mayor of Kitakyushu city, is expected to make its final decision. If he decides to accept, Kitakyushu city will accept several thousands tons of radioactive garbage soon.

Kitakyushu city, one of the Japanese Local government which locates about 1000 km far from Fukushima, had very few radioactive contamination last year. Many Japanese citizens depend on their food supply from Kitakyushu now. If Kitakyushu city accepts garbage, they may have risks to lose safe food supply there. See the caesium distribution map shown above to confirm its contamination.

It seems totaly crazy, so that many citizens protested to the city hall via phone call etc. Because of enormous protest, city hall decided to install new direct phone line to accept protest from March 19th, 2012.

東日本大震災：がれき専用ダイヤル設置－－１９日、北九州市　／福岡
　北九州市は１６日、東日本大震災で発生したがれきの受け入れ問題について、市民などからの問い合わせを受け付ける専用ダイヤルを１９日に開設すると発表した。
　市循環社会推進課によると、市議会が市にがれきの受け入れを要請する決議案を全会一致で可決した１２日以降、寄せられた問い合わせなどは市内外から約４５０件で、反対意見が多いという。
　専用ダイヤル設置に伴い、電話回線を３回線増やし、対応する市職員を２～３人配置する予定。専用ダイヤルは、平日午前８時半～午後５時１５分、０９３・５８２・２４１１。
